Anime is increasingly popular nowadays. They come in all sorts of stories, characters, and settings. Coming up with the Top 10 Anime Series today is definitely challenging but I’m eager to take it. I’ve been an anime fan ever since high-school and watched countless anime series and episodes. Through the years, I have come up with a list of my favorites based on their storyline, drawing, and fame. Probably the best thing about most Anime series nowadays is that you kids can learn essential values from them. Thought sometimes violent, the men behind these anime series always make sure that their creations will introduce good memories and entertain their viewers.

Deathnote is a thrilling anime about the fine line between life and death
Writer Tsugumi Ohba and artist Takeshi Obata are the ones behind this thrilling anime series. Death Note’s main character is Light Yagami. He is a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook used by Death Gods. The owner of his find is a cunning and curious death god named Ryuk. The Death Note can be used to kill anyone given the user knows his target’s real name and seen his face. This anime series revolves on Yagami Light’s quest to cleanse the world through the notebook’s power. Despite his good intentions, Light eventually found himself being the evil he aims to perish.

Who is your favorite Samurai X character?
Samurai X follows the adventures of Kenshin Himura as he tries to undo his past wrongs by following a just path
The anime series started when Kenshin was caught up with Karou Kamiya. The bashful teacher attacked our hero misjudging him to be the cruel man who uses the name of Battousai the Man Slayer to terrorize their town. Kenshin Himura easily proved his innocence by pulling out his reversed edge sword. Such type of sword can’t kill. Karou Kamiya left Kenshin alone and continued her search and was successful. A battle between her and the fake Battousai immediately commenced but it Karou is simply too weak. She was about to receive the final blow when Kenshin Himura picked her up and led her to a safer distance. Patrolling policemen arrived leaving the fake Battousai with no choice other than to flee. Karou decided to let Kenshin board on their Dojo as an act of appreciation. The fake Battousai infiltrated the dojo together with a pack of thugs and finally revealed himself as a former student who has a crooked idea about martial arts and sword fighting. Kenshin Himura protected Kaoru breaking his secret in the process. Despite knowing who Kenshin really is, Karou accepted him and simply didn’t care about his past. They met several friends and foes along the way as the series continued. Kenshin Himura will never rest until the weak is not oppressed and true peace reigns all throughout the country.

Slam Dunk is the funny yet inspiring story of Hanamichi Sakuragi as he makes a name in Japan's High School Basketball League
Slam Dunk is an anime series which features the adventure of Shohoku High basketball team as they struggle to be the league champion. The team was a mediocre at first with only Takanori Akagi as a decent member. Everything changed after the team recruited Hanamichi Sakuragi, Kaede Rukawa, Riota Miyagi, and Hisashi Mitsui. With their unparalleled guts and determination, the team eventually became a formidable force that won’t back down to any challenge.
The main focus of the anime series is on Sakuragi Hanamichi. He is an energetic freshman who knows nothing about basketball but was convinced to join the team to impress Haruko Akagi, the team captain’s sister. He may seem dumb but Sakuragi Hanamichi has tremendous innate talent in basketball. His evolution from being a punk who can barely dribble to a basketball superstar is nothing but amazing! Despite his presence and the support of talented teammates, the road towards victory is still packed with unimaginable challenges. In fact, there’s no chance of winning through individual effort. The team should work together as one to defeat the best teams across the country and be hailed as the national basketball league’s champion!

Who is your favorite Hunter X Hunter character?
Hunter X Hunter tells the story of Gon Freecss; his quest to find his father and be a professional Hunter
Hunter X Hunter is an anime series which features Gon, a young boy whose father disappeared years ago to be a Hunter. He believes that the only way to find his long lost father is to follow his path so Gon sets forth on a journey to become a Hunter. A Hunter is one who travels all around the globe to do dangerous tasks like catching notorious criminals, searching for rare food ingredients, and venturing in deep jungles to find treasures.
Gon decides to leave his home and start the journey to become one of the greatest Hunters to walk the earth and find his father after becoming twelve. He entered the Hunter Examination and met Leorio, Kurapika, and Killua. The four of them easily became friends despite their differences. They worked as a team to emerge victorious in every challenge during the Hunter Exam and their efforts eventually paid off. They became full-pledged Hunters and decided to take on different adventures afterwards. Killua and Gon became partners and together faced seemingly invulnerable enemies and extremely challenging situations as the series progressed. This anime series was based on the manga created by Togashi Yoshihiro.
Who is your favorite Eyeshield 21 character?
Eyeshield 21 is a classic anime. It follows the story of Sena Kobayakawa as he wears his helmet to be the fastest highschool quarterback in Japan!
Sena Kobayakawa stars the anime series Eyeshield 21. He grew being beaten up and bullied by his classmates, which is probably the main reason why he developed impressive running and dodging skills. Sena thought his life in Deimon Private Senior High Scholl will end up same as the previous but everything changed after he was forced to join the American Football Club. Yoichi Hiruma, the team’s brutal captain was the one who noticed his potential to be the team’s quarterback. Sena has the speed and he is more than capable of being the best given he has the courage and enough determination to face one seemingly impossible challenge after another.
Unlike what many believe, Sena Kobayakawa’s main attribute is not solely his lightning speed. He encourages his teammates to surpass their limits and help the team win even against formidable opponents. Despite all the odds against them, the Deimon American Football team wins through brutal and ingeniously planned offensive stances which are made possible through their captain’s twisted and evil mind. The team suffered several losses in the process but their determination and perseverance never faltered. Instead, they considered each loss as a stepping stone for improvement and a start for something new and better.

Fairy Tail follows the adventures of the famous magician guild called Fairy Tail.
The anime series started as Lucy Heartfilia, a 17-year-old celestial wizard decided to join Fairy Tail. This guild is quite famous not just because of having strong members but mainly because of the chaos and destruction they leave behind after every job. Though the guild usually saved the day, the property damages due to their actions made them a hot subject among guild council members. Lucy successfully joined Fairy Tail and teamed up with Natsu Dragoneel, a Dragon Slayer searching for the dragon who raised him. Lucy eventually realized how hard it is to be a wizard. She met new friends along the way as long as terrifying opponents. Fairy Tail recently suffered badly after being attacked by a powerful Dark Guild yet the members insisted not to give up. In the end, their will to survive and rebuild the guild will help them surpass the crisis and transform Fairy Tail to one of the strongest guilds ever known.
Who is your favorite Bleach character?
Bleach is an anime series featuring Kurosaki Ichigo, the substitute Shinigami!
Kurosaki Ichigo is far from being an ordinary student because he can see ghosts. He has such kind of ability ever since childhood. In fact, he got used to it and managed to befriend spirits from the afterlife or those who are still trapped in our world. His life entirely changed after a Hollow, monsters who consume spirits or people who are gifted with spiritual powers. Although a shinigami (Death god) by the name of Kuchiki Rukia came to help them, she just can’t defeat the strong Hollow alone. She was left with no choice other than give Ichigo some of her spiritual powers. Ichigo became a substitute shinigami and managed to defeat the Hollow as if he was born to be a shinigami. With his newly acquired power, Kurosaki Ichigo trained to become a strong shinigami who will do anything to keep the balance between our world and the one occupied by spirits.
Who would win in a final duel, Naruto or Sasuke?
Naruto is one of the most popular anime series to date. It's the story of Uzumaki Naruto and his struggles as he aims to be Konoha's next hokage.
Uzumaki Naruto had a tough childhood because the monster that terrorized his hometown 12 years ago was sealed inside him. The most disturbing part is that it was his parents who made the decision. Instead of blaming them for his misfortune, Naruto searched for the true meaning of his existence and aimed to speak with his late father someday in any way possible which eventually happened in the later part of the series. At first, Naruto was unaware about him being the Demon Fox’s container. It was when he faced Mizuki, a renegade ninja who tried to steal a jutsu scroll where he found out about his true identity. Despite being different, Naruto easily made friends with junior ninjas and made truthful bonds of friendship. Naruto’s goal is to become the next Hokage. He believes that it’s the only way for him to protect the village and everyone close to his heart that resides in it. His dream might be lucrative but with his teeming perseverance and through hard work, achieving it is never impossible.

One Piece is the anime series that everyone is talking about. It follows Monkey D. Luffy along with his crew as they search faraway and dangerous seas in searc
Gol D. Roger obtained wealth, fame, and power like no other pirate had enough to crown him as the Pirate King. With a vague reason, he surrendered to the marines and told everyone about One Piece just before he was executed in public. It was said that anyone who can get a hold of this treasure found in Grand Line will be the next Pirate King. This challenge spread across the globe and encouraged millions to embark on a journey in search for the infamous treasure. One of them is a young boy named Monkey D. Luffy who accidentally ate a devil fruit which gave his body rubber-like properties. He is determined to assemble a group of skillful individuals who can help him in his journey towards being the next Pirate King and it was never hard since Luffy’s innocent and truthful heart impresses almost everyone. It seems like befriending anyone is his secret weapon. This ability was even noticed by Mihawk, a warlord whom he met a couple of times in the series. It’s not certain whether Monkey D. Luffy and his crew will eventually find One Piece. The only thing certain is that their journey will be exciting and something they’ll never forget for the rest of their lives.

The Dragonball Z series is the best anime of all time. It started the anime craze way back in the early 90's and has no plan of stopping until now!
Nothing can beat the classic which is probably why Dragonball Z captured the number 1 spot. This anime series follows the adventures of Son Goku, a Sayan who managed to escape the destruction of his planet and was sent here on Earth. At first, his mission was to rule over our world but an accident entirely changed his attitude and way of thinking. He met strong and reliable friends along the way and formed the Z Warriors. Every member of this team is willing to risk their life in protecting Earth from even the strongest and most horrifying foes like Frieza, the one who destroyed Son Goku’s planet, Cell, Majin buu, and many more. The anime series is full of intense action. Its unique storyline is also a major factor of Dragonball Z’s success. Dragonball Z has been aired countless times on television yet kids of all ages are still excited to see every episode. This fact alone proves how successful this anime series is and that it has what it takes to be called the best anime series of all time!

Hows the anime world going in 2018?
My answer is a resounding "AWESOME"! Although there's an ongoing trend of RPG-inspired anime, I have no qualms about it since I like the niche. There are a lot of promising anime series that made their debut this year and some of them managed to squeeze their way to be a part of the honorable mentions of this list of the Top 10Best Anime Series of All Time!
Overlord - All Hail Ainz Sama!
Overlord is an anime series you’ll love right out of the bat. This is true especially for MMOPRG enthusiasts. The series follows the highs and lows of Satoru Suzuki’s adventure in a game-like world where magic and dragons exist. He was originally just an avid gamer of Ygdarasil, a famous VRMMO in Japan but after a sequence of unexplainable events, he was transported to a world that greatly resembles the game. It even game him a strong impression that he was sucked into the game. Along with the guild the whole guild he built with his friends, he faces the challenges of the new world in search for other players and a fresh start in life.
Sword Art Online 3: Alicization - Kirito never gets tired of being trapped in a game
Sword Art Online 3: Alicization is the new season of SAO that’s just recently released. This time around, Kirito Kirigaya, the main male protagonist, immersed into a new game that taps into the human soul which allows players to fully experience a fantasy world that is closer to reality more than ever. I watched the first three episode but the new animation style really annoyed me. I love SAO especially the first season so I gave it a try but it’s just not for me this time around. Goblin Slayer - No mercy for Goblins!
“Only a dead goblin is a good goblin!” This line perfectly describes how Goblin Slayer the main protagonist of this anime series, feels. His whole family was killed by a goblin horde and after surviving he vowed to kill goblins until his last breath. Heads up though because goblin slayer is not for kids. It is targeted to an adult audience who doesn’t have any qualms about seeing rape and murder scenes. But don’t let this dark tone discourage you. Goblin Slayer is an entertaining anime series that I can easily recommend to my friends so check it out if you have some free time.
Yowamushi Pedal - Cycling with friends is fun!
If you are into cycling or any kind of sport, Yowamushi Pedal is a must-watch. Its story is a bit typical with a weak MC that slowly improves while gathering trustworthy and competitive teammates as they to be the best in Japan. Nevertheless, there a lot of new things that only Yowamushi Pedal can offer. Obviously, one is cycling. It’s a sport that has little to no exposure in the anime world. Another thing is the animation style which is both colorful and intense. It will keep you excited and cheering as your favorite character works hard and give his all while contested by a pesky antagonist who is doesn’t go far behind in terms of skill and determination.
That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime - Slimes fight back!
The best anime for 2018 for me is That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime. It has all the elements I’m looking for from an anime, a bit of romance, humor, interesting characters, good character development, and most importantly a lot of action. The story is about a simple guy who never had a girlfriend in his whole life. He died after being stabbed in the street while meeting with friends. Anyone can say that he did not fully enjoy life and his death was untimely. But the fortune smiled at him maybe for the first time when he was reincarnated to a fantasy world as a slime with cheat abilities while maintaining his memories from previous life. How will he use these advantages? Will he have a better life this time around? It’s a rollercoaster anime adventure that everyone deserves to watch!
